Charlotte NC Real Estate,Charlotte Real Estate,Charlotte Realtor Eli Magids
Hey everybody, Eli Magids coming to you from Charlotte. Today I would like to speak about the two homes that I was recently in. Two things in common about the homes and let’s see if we can figure out a common denominator.
Both homes -- very, very well-maintained, beautiful homes, beautiful neighborhoods, well-priced. One thing that stands out for me in both homes are deer heads coming out of the walls, you know, the stuffed deer heads -- one was over mantelplace; one was at a wall in another house.
And I'm saying to myself, hmm, maybe that’s the reason why this house is not selling. Maybe they have freaking dogs next door. Maybe that’s why the house is not selling. But my dogs are leaving -- those are not my dogs.
So most people who are moving into Charlotte are not from south or are not from Charlotte and they may not be into hunting and they may not be into having dead animals hanging on their walls. When you’re selling your house you pretty much wanna appeal to as many people as possible.
So without getting too political on you, without letting you know my real feelings about this, take the freaking deer head off the wall, off the mantle. If you have any other dead animals hanging around in your house, you know, any bears that you shot standing there as a trophy, or you’ve got some stuffed pigeons, or whatever it is , I don’t think most people are really interested in seeing it. You’re very proud that you have it, but we don’t wanna see it when we’re looking at a house. It’s a turn off for some people. Best bet, take the stuff off the wall, get it out of the cabinets, whatever. Put it in your front seat, put it in your trunk... I don’t care, out of the house.
