Realtors in Charlotte -If it smells, it’s not gonna sell!!
Hey everybody, it is your crazy, whacked-out realtor guy, Eli Magids, coming to you from Charlotte, North Carolina. Today, I wanna talk about something that happened this week. I walked into a house of some clients and the house smell like cat pee. Not good.
If your house smells like cat pee, if you have a dog and it smells like dog kaka, if you have a husband that has bad BO, if you cooked with heavy spices in your home... you need to get rid of those smells prior to bring clients in to see the house.
Nothing turns off a client more than a bad smell. Your house can look beautiful, it can be well-priced, it can be in a perfect neighborhood, great school district... if it smells, the buyers are gonna walk out! You don’t want that to happen.
So, it’s incumbent upon you to go to your next door neighbor or your best friend or your realtor — prepare for the answer — and ask them: Does my house smell like a cat? Does it smell like a dog? Does it smell like my husband? If it does, you need to clean it up. You need to fix that smell. If it’s a carpet and if it smells, unclean, and it doesn’t work, you’re gonna have to rip the carpet up. Use the hardwood floors underneath if you have them or you’re gonna have to replace them with some inexpensive carpet. Bottom line is if it smells, it’s not gonna sell.
